Possibly named for a World War I field gun, this classic drink packs a wallop.

Ingredients in The French 75 Cocktail

1 ¹⁄₂ oz Gin

³⁄₄ ozv resh lemon juice

³⁄₄ ozv imple syrup

1 oz Champagne

Garnish: 1  Lemon peel

Glass: Champagne flute

How to make The French 75 Cocktail

Add all the ingredients except the Champagne to a shaker and fill with ice.
Shake well and fine-strain into a Champagne flute.
Top with the Champagne and garnish with a long ribbon of lemon peel.
